Well, well, well, The UP delivers once again. And just in time for the day after Christmas. Bars and restaurants will be open for carry outs. I posted below what Brian is doing down at Gogebic Lodge, I’m not sure yet what the Hoop is going to do. In the 15 years I have been here every season has seen a struggle of one kind or another. This season is not going to disappoint. Usually it is Mother Nature throwing us curve balls, this year it is the government, the Chinese or whom ever else we can blame all this shit on. No matter what the UP will soon transform into the Winter Wonderland we have all come to love.
Lodge Life update !
Starting Saturday, Dec 26th we will be open 7 days a week . From noon – till ? ( The ? Is up to you guys, if ya patronize us, the crew will stay open and serve until 2am). This will be carry out and DELIVERY and will have outdoor seating in our sauna building and tents outside. Also New this year our LAKE GOGEBIC SNOW BEACH. ! Bonfires , music and outdoor seating next to the Bar for your outside enjoyment .

Winds gusting to around 35 mph will lead to areas of blowing snow. * WHERE...Keweenaw, Ontonagon, Northern Houghton, Baraga and Southern Houghton Counties. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 1 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the commutes this evening, Thursday morning, and Thursday evening.
